My job sucks...and one of my fave college-age bands is breaking up.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled lives.

Okay...I'll update.

I finally got through putting most of my CDs on my computer. I now have 13+ GB of music on Party Shuffle on my computer. The sad part is I still have about 40 or so more CDs yet to put on. Then I am getting an external HD to back everything up on (music and personal files), so I never have to worry about my music again. Dang...I have a huge CD collection. It is almost two books full right now...and that doesn't begin to touch the piles that Jill has sitting around.

FYI -- That is 3279 songs...8 days and nearly 21 hours of music. WOW!

Anyway, not much else of interest is going on. I am pursuing a new job...not that my current one is bad, but I feel like I should have something better. I have nearly 3 years of telecommunication sales experience. That may not mean anything, but it means I meet those so-called recommended requirements for management positions at most companies. However, Frontier's supervisors in my call center have literally not moved in 8 or 10 years...we have gotten one new one since I started, and she was a manager at Verizon Pages previously. Basically, that isn't going to happen anytime soon. So, I am seriously considering moving back to wireless or to a company that I currently do business with (Qwest or Comcast) then I can at least take advantage of some employee discounts.

Not much else going on...I am also looking at buying (actually, more than likely leasing...) a new car here in the near future. The Minneapolis Auto Show is coming up, so I am going to do most of my shopping/research there. It also means extra-special deals around the area. Plus, since I can do my research there, no salespeople will be bothering me. Lucky me!!!

I'm done...goodbye.

Okay...so Jill is trying to get me to go into her RP thing, which she has been doing for quite a while. So, here comes a poll...

If I were to join, which famous person should I play:

1) Kevin Max
2) Bobby Flay
3) Justin Morneau

Please reply in comment form...and let the onslaught begin.

I was channel surfing this morning...killing time before I go to the Twins - Oakland playoff game with my dad...and came across a program on The Science Channel. It was a program about a professor that did a study to determine the best statistical players ever. I don't know the exact parameters, but based on position, here is his all-time best baseball team. He didn't have a reliever on here...so that can be discussion topic 1.

C Yogi Berra
1B Lou Gehrig
2B Joe Morgan
3B Mike Schmidt
SS Honus Wagner
LF Ted Williams
CF Willie Mays
RF Babe Ruth

SP Roger Clemens

Here are my picks for RP. Of course, since RPs didn't really come about until the 1970s, I am starting at that point.

Rollie Fingers
Dennis Eckersley
Trevor Hoffman

I'll make a more substantive post about it tomorrow, but I had a 6-team fantasy league draft tonight. I'll be osting my thoughts and results in a few days. It will take me a while to put them all down. It went well, I have a well-balanced team.

That is all the news right now, outside of Jill and I house-shopping. Hopefully, we'll get to look at a few here in the next week and move forward on purchasing one. We'll keep ya'all posted with pictures and stuff.

Well, according to ESPN, Pedro Martinez is 340 years old. Ummm...did someone happen to check the graphics before they put them on the screen.

Not much else to say. I am going to work on building some different SWCCG decks, especially my Light Side deck. I want to built Massassi Base Ops deck now, just to see how it would work. I saw one done at the last tournament I played in, and I was interested in playing it. I bet I could do better than the guy I played against.

That's it...I'm outta here. Going to eat some nachos.

Untitled and Opinionated #2: The Most Underrated Player in the World

Sep. 14th, 2004 | 09:49 pm

As I sit watching the next big sports craze in America, the World Series of Poker, I think that I really have found the most underrated professional player in the world. The funny thing, a lot of would know his brother, who is a top-20 professional golfer...Ryder Cup player...perennial contender for every golf major. All the while, his elder brother goes overlooked. Padraig Harrington should be looking up to his brother and promoting him, but instead he remains popular, while Dan Harrington sits in casinos and continues to become a poker legend.

Dan Harrington sits at the final table of the 2004 Main Event...wearing a green Boston Red Sox cap, uncreased (as most old farts do)...his quiet demeanor providing some relief to the outrageous personalities around him. People like Fossil Man, Josh Arieh, Mattias Andersson, Phil Hellmuth, and the other characters that are now the popular poker players. He sits...making his calls, winning his all-ins, and continuing his legacy.

Let me fill you in...Dan Harrington...the first player to sit on two consecutive final tables, has now been on 4 final tables...owner of multiple WSOP bracelets...Main Event winner in 1995. The man is the legend of all the poker legends. But unless you follow poker, you wouldn't know his name. On the flip side, even if you don't follow golf, you'd know his brother...
